Q: What was your biggest surprise? And/or disappointment?

A: Biggest surprise – Pax Pamir; This game intrigued me since my husband, Tim, played it for the first time at CascadeCon in 2025. I thought it was a typical war game but Tim assured me it was not and that he really wanted to teach it to me.

Well, it took another year and a new convention for me to finally get the chance to sit down in a 3-player game for the title. And boy, was I surprised! Pax Pamir is a game of clever, opportunistic card play and tableau management. I thoroughly enjoyed my first play of this and truly, only disappointed that I haven't played it again yet since February!
