First Messen Community Charity Event
Fun was had and good was done at the 1st Messen Community Charity Event with the Seattle Angels
Members of the Messen community gathered on April 11, 2026 for a board game charity event in support of Seattle Angels. The non-profit mobilizes a community of volunteers, mentors, donors, and partners who choose to show up – creating consistent support and real belonging for children, youth, and families navigating foster care.
Messen community members brought gift cards to donate in support of Seattle Angels’ foster families and had a great day of laughter, making new friends, and of course, playing games. Delicious lunches were brought in from Fresh Every Thyme–a Seattle-based personal chef service, which left more time for games.
After lunch, Seattle Angels’ Executive Director, Jess shared stories about the impact the Seattle Angels has for youth and family members in foster care–and how the donated cards will support families with either extra funds for groceries, a special dinner at a favorite restaurant, and more. There are a wide range of ways to support foster families through Seattle Angels.

Thank you to everyone who came to the first Messen Charity event–and a special thanks to John who showed up early and help set up.
